This 17th ECME Pre Conference Seminar will focus on young children’s rich and diverse musical identities.
Examples of research and practice from many parts of the world, aimed at celebrating and nurturing the innate musicality of children, will be shared through keynote speakers, paper presentations, workshops, symposia, posters and special interest group discussions.
The 17th ECME seminar will be held in Ede, The Netherlands and will be hosted by the Dutch Association for Music Education/Gehrels Muziekeducatie. We invite practitioners and researchers interested in the musical lives of young children from birth to 8 years to submit their work for presentation.
All presenters must be a current financial member of ISME at the time of submission and during the seminar. The ECME seminar, along with other ISME commission seminars, precede the ISME World Conference in Glasgow. ECME seminar participants are encouraged to travel to Glasgow to attend the World Conference. There will be an Early Childhood strand at this conference and the chance to meet many more music education colleagues from around the world.
All ECME presenters are expected to attend the entire seminar. Any special circumstances that prevent attendance for the entire week must be discussed with the commission chair prior to the seminar.
